This event is being held for members of the United Methodist Women. Sexual abuse is a topic that often stays in the shadows but if we bring light to it we can bring healing and hope. Mothers, daughters and friends need to know the facts, the implications and be able to talk about it and break the stigma. Tambry shares her story to illustrate how it can happen to anyone and how the limiting beliefs that can deveop from this experience can impact choices throughout life. It is in the honest exploration and healing from these wounds that full life can be gained.
Pineville Church of the Nazarene is hosting this women’s day of healing. Tambry will be one of three speakers who will be sharing their stories and paths to healing.
This talk focuses on education around the facts of sexual abuse and supporting stories to help college students understand the seriousness of this topic. Survivors of sexual abuse are encouraged to reach out to resources and create a support network to be able to heal. Supporters of sexual abuse victims (if it didn’t happen to you, it happened to a close family member or friend) are told the ways they can be a safe place for abuse victims. Ultimately this awareness can reduce the number of incidences and change the culture around this topic.
